Call a Roofer First?

Insurance-claim-form

If you suspect that you have damage to your roof or you are unsure call a roofer first before you call your insurance company.  When you call your insurance company it automatically becomes a claim on your policy.  When the adjuster comes out to inspect your roof any amount of damage, small or large, will be accounted for in the claim.  All of this may count against you when it is time to renew your insurance and as a result you might receive an increase in your premium.  This could happen even if you don’t have damage!

The best thing to do is call a roofing company you trust and have them come out and do a roof inspection.  This inspection is free and the roofer inspecting your home will give you an honest assessment of the condition of your roof.  Many times our inspections have revealed damage to the gutters or ridge caps but no damage to the actual shingles.  In this case it may not make sense for you to file a claim.  There may be no damage at all and a claim isn’t needed.  Your time and money are important so consider calling the roofer first before your insurance company.

We are always happy to give free roof inspections so give our office a call today! (405) 359-3951.
