Benefits of a roof maintenance plan

Take care of your roof and it will take care of you! When it comes to maintaining your home’s most valuable asset, your roof, our business makes it simple to stay on top of annual inspections and repairs to keep your roof in tip-top shape. Our late founder, Brian Land, saw a need to help homeowners maintain the quality of their roofs and created our roof maintenance plan. Though our maintenance plans might not be right for everyone, it does come with a number of benefits.

Unfortunately, when you begin to notice a leak inside your home, the damage is likely more severe than what you’re able to see. Some of the most common problems we see with roofs on homes we repair or replace are:

  • Clogged gutters
  • Animals and pests making a home in your attic
  • Cracked vent pipe boots
  • Trees or tall bushes rubbing against shingles and soffit

Typically, these disturbances fall within the homeowner’s responsibility and aren’t covered by insurance, but the good news is that you can be proactive and take preventative measures before they become a big problem! Keep reading to learn about the benefits of a roof maintenance plan.

After over a decade of trial, error, and adjustments, we have found that inspecting our client’s roof once a year is typically the perfect cadence. The ideal time to schedule a roof inspection with a maintenance plan is early in the year around January or February to ensure your roof is ready to withstand our crazy Oklahoma spring weather.

The key to a good inspection is to check everything! We take lots of photos of the current condition of your roof before creating a game plan for future repairs. Our maintenance plan is perfect for the homeowner who doesn’t want to take the risk of climbing around on a roof to remove debris from the gutters, trim back irritating tree limbs, seal areas that could cause a leak, repair nails, clean skylights, and check flashing around the chimney. If you didn’t know, there are many laws surrounding roofing repairs in Oklahoma, and it’s always a good idea to have a professional who is registered by the CIB (Construction & Industries Board) examine and repair any damage you have rather than tackle it yourself.

Once we finish the inspection and clean up we send our clients an extensive report of what we found during the annual visit. We also take the time to review recommended repairs with our clients.

If you’re a homeowner who has joined our roof maintenance plan, rest assured that we keep all this information on file in case you need it. This information can be beneficial if a client later needs to file a claim with their insurance company. We often work with our clients to give “before” photos to the insurance company for replacement claims or other damages that need to be reported.

The main benefits of our roof maintenance plans are:

  • Customers don’t have to worry about repairing anything on their roof – we take care of it!
  • Customers have a strong paper trail for any future insurance claims.
  • Your roof can be ready for any storms that are ahead!
