Brian’s legacy: a year later

Contractor in silhouette working

At Land Enterprises Roofing, we continue to watch and listen to our customers in order to provide the best roofing services we possibly can. I wanted to take some time to reflect on the past year and share one minor change moving forward.

Reflecting on the past year

My husband Brian Land, founder of Land Enterprises Roofing, passed away on March 17, 2019, and I talked about his legacy a couple months later. Soon after he passed away, there was an outbreak of hail storms in the Oklahoma City area.

Usually a roofing company is ready to jump into action whenever there is a hail storm in the area. And while it is part of our mission to serve in that way, obviously we were going through a pretty big transition at the time.

When Brian passed away, it was not only difficult for myself and our children, but for our entire team as well. All of our staff had a deep personal relationship with him. As I reflect on that time, I can see that the stress and uncertainty was obvious to our customers despite our desire to continue serving them.

So first, I’d like to apologize for falling short of that goal last year.

A new Oklahoma roofing contractor number

One of the many things we have to be proud of is how Brian was one of the first Oklahoma Roofing Contractors to be certified when the state’s new system was implemented back in 2010. Brian was contractor #80000030. And while we are getting a  new contractor number, the state of Oklahoma is retiring Brian’s number to honor him.

Our new roofing contractor number is now in my name, Kirsten Land. So everywhere you look on our website and elsewhere, you’ll see our new number, #80004579. That’s a lot of time and numbers between contractor certifications!

Of course, we’ve been around since 1986, so our new number isn’t really indicative of our longevity. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers for years to come.

Congratulations, Kirsten! I think it’s cool, and it says alot about Brian that you’re continuing the legacy!! Let me know how I can be of assistance if you need it. Quentin

Best wishes, I met Brian about 20 years ago when he was doing mowing and roofing. The past conversation we had was about building your house.
